This is a short photo-essay on the hand-making of custom chinrests. Some of my clients request a particular design of chinrest to go along with the new violin or viola that they have purchased from Kelvin Scott Violins. We are happy to work with clients in this regard, seeing it as one more way in which a conscientiously made new violin or viola can offer a player a complete and optimized playing experience.
